Mayor Dave Hodgson visits the 'Somewhere Safe to Stay' Hub

On World Homeless Day, Mayor Dave Hodgson visited the soon to open 'Somewhere Safe to Stay' Hub.

The Hub will officially open next week and is being run by SMART. The Hub will offer somewhere safe to stay, warm and dry for rough sleepers as well as offer rapid and intensive support.

Rough sleepers accessing the hub will receive a same day assessment and somewhere safe to stay for between 3-7 days, during which time they will be provided with a safe place to sleep and concentrated support from SMART workers alongside dedicated statutory housing support from Navigator's within the Council teams. The aim of the hub is to find the appropriate housing solution for each individual service user by the end of their stay.
