Mayor Dave’s Honours Thanks

Mayor Dave Hodgson has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, and has thanked everyone sending their congratulations.

Commenting on the award, Mayor Dave added: "I moved to Bedford as a young boy, and my mother and father were both teachers locally, and it is nice to receive recognition for serving the community that has been my home for most of my life."

"The vital role of local government in communities across the country is often overlooked, and I want this honour to be seen as reflecting the hard work and public service of local council officers and councillors in the task of making our communities even better places to live and work."
