Mayor Dave visits Bromham play area
Earlier this week, Mayor Dave Hodgson visited the play area at Browning Close in Bromham with Sian Woodfine and Julie Betts the Chair and Clerk of Bromham Parish Council to look at the improvements carried out by the Parish Council during 2021.
The play area at Browning Close was refurbished in Autumn 2021 at a total cost of £31,967. Bedford Borough Council provided £15,983.48 toward the new play area through the Rural Grants Scheme and the Borough Councillors contributed £5,000 through their Ward Funds.
The new equipment was chosen to be inclusive for all abilities with particular focus on children with disabilities.
Mayor Dave said "It was great to see the new play area and I couldn't resist a play whilst I was there. I know the play area is already well used and Sian and Julie told me how much local children are enjoying the new play equipment."
Sian added "It is wonderful that we were able to receive the necessary grants and funding to assist the Parish Council with this project. To be able to recreate this very popular play area and make it all inclusive was very much our aim, and we are delighted with the results. I'm sure it will entertain children for years to come."
The Rural Grants Scheme provides grants to rural organisations or rural Parish Councils for capital expenditure. There is more details about the scheme at https://www.bedford.gov.uk/benefits-and-support/advice-and-benefits-grants/grants-for-financial-assist/.
