Mayor Dave Welcomes Cllr Anthony Forth to Council Cabinet
Mayor Dave Hodgson's Cabinet has a new member, with Goldington Ward Councillor Anthony Forth appointed as the new Portfolio Holder for Adult Services at Bedford Borough Council with immediate effect.
Cllr Forth replaces fellow Labour Cllr Mohammad Yasin, who stood down as Adult Services Portfolio Holder on the Executive following his election as MP for Bedford and Kempston at this month's General Election.
Cllr Forth was first elected in 2015 and has served as Labour Group Spokesperson on the Adult Services Overview & Scrutiny Committee and chaired the Yarl's Wood Sub-Committee.
Mayor Dave Hodgson said 'I am delighted to welcome Cllr Forth to the Council's Executive. Adults Services is a crucial area for the Council, addressing the delivery of care for some of the most vulnerable in our society. In his time as a Councillor he has shown he is well suited for this role, in his work supporting local residents. I know he will meet the challenges of the role and I look forward to working him.'
Cllr Forth said "I welcome the opportunity to take on this Portfolio, and thank the Mayor for asking me to join his Executive. I look forward to working with fellow Executive members, council officers and other organisations across the Borough to ensure residents have the best possible services available to them."
