Mayor Dave Hodgson has congratulated local students and school and college staff following the publication of A Level exam results. The results across Bedford Borough showed more local students achieving top grades, in the face of the widely-reported national decline in A* and A grades.

Mayor Dave said: "Congratulations to students and staff across the borough on achieving these results. Talented, hard-working students and school and college staff have worked extremely hard to achieve high standards. There are great success stories right across Bedford Borough, and it is course testament to students and teaching staff that the proportion of entrants achieving the top grades increased despite the national fall in this figure."

Any students who would like to talk through their next steps and gain professional advice can contact UCAS directly. The UCAS Helpline is open over the weekend. UCAS contact details and operating hours can be found on the UCAS website.

There are also other sources of support and advice available locally for students who are disappointed with their results. For example, qualified Careers Advisors from The Jobs Hub were on hand at every Upper School in Bedford Borough on results day, while contact details and opening hours for The Jobs Hub can be found on the Council website.
