Mayor’s Congratulations as Putnoe Primary School Wins Prestigious Award
Mayor Dave Hodgson was invited along to Putnoe Primary School this week, where he congratulated pupils and staff on winning the prestigious Platinum Artsmark award.
The Artsmark scheme is run by the Arts Council England and gives recognition to education providers who maximise the opportunities and benefits of arts and culture in education. The platinum award is the very highest award in the scheme, and has been won by just 65 establishments across the whole country.
In a short speech, Mayor Dave congratulated all pupils and staff on this fantastic achievement.
The school was also celebrating the opening of its newly furnished media suite, and Mayor Dave was invited to cut the ribbon for the official opening.
You can watch a short video of the event here.
Commenting on Facebook, Mayor Dave said: "Thanks again to Putnoe Primary School for inviting me along yesterday to join the celebrations for your Platinum Artsmark award.'
"This Arts Council England scheme recognises those education providers which maximise the benefits and opportunities for children of arts and culture, and Putnoe Primary is one of just 65 establishments across the whole country to have won the very highest platinum award - brilliant!'
Congratulations too on your fantastic, newly furnished media suite, which I was honoured to cut the ribbon for.
Well done again to all staff and pupils at Putnoe Primary!"
