Mayor Dave Hodgson has congratulated the new Liberal Democrat Councillor for Putnoe Ward Cllr Rosemary Bootiman after her resounding victory in yesterday's by-election. Cllr Bootiman won with a majority of over 650 votes, and takes her place as Putnoe Ward Cllr alongside her Liberal Democrat colleague Cllr Michael Headley.

Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "I am delighted to welcome Rosemary Bootiman onto the Council after her emphatic victory. She fought a positive campaign based on carrying on the local record of hard work and getting things done for Putnoe. I look forward to working with Rosemary on the Council as we continue in the crucial tasks of keeping council tax down and saving front-line services which are being lost elsewhere."
