Following the publication of GCSE grades for students across Bedford Borough, Mayor Dave Hodgson has congratulated students and teachers on their efforts.

Mayor Dave said: "Well done to the students who received their GCSE results. The publication of the GCSE exam results mark the culmination of a process which involves a lot of hard work by students, their families and staff, and school communities across the Borough have worked to help achieve good outcomes for young people.'

"There have been some outstanding results achieved by students in schools across the Borough, and congratulations are due to all those who have worked hard over the period of their courses."

Coordinated structural changes designed to support schools to raise standards and help increase attainment levels will take place in the forthcoming years for those schools and groups of schools in Bedford Borough which come forward with proposals.
