Mayor's Good Luck Message for Schoolboy Footballers as they Head to National Final

Mayor Dave Hodgson has issued a good luck message to the Bedford & District Schools FA under 13 team on the eve of their English Schools National Final at the Madejski Stadium, Reading. This is the first time in Bedford Schools FA's history that the district has qualified for the later stages of the national competition.
The boys face Sunderland in the final, at the end of a campaign which started back in October with a 10-1 victory over South London District Schools. Victories over a series of other districts followed as they moved through the rounds of this prestigious national competition. Details of their brilliant run to the final are available on the competition's website
Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "Good luck to the Bedford & District Schools under-13 team as they play for the national cup. The boys have already made history in becoming the first Bedford Schools team to reach the final, and have earned the right to compete in what will be a special occasion at a major stadium. The team have done themselves, their schools and Bedford proud, and I wish them the very best of luck for the final tomorrow."
The final kicks off at 1.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday 21st May. Good luck Bedford & District!
