Ahead of next Monday's Climate Change Committee, Mayor Dave Hodgson has welcomed the updated Carbon Reduction Delivery Strategy which sets out the approach that Bedford Borough Council will take to become Carbon Neutral by 2030.

Mayor Dave said "By 2030, the council's own operations will be clean and efficient, and we will play a positive role enabling the wider borough to achieve net zero emissions. The strategy and action plan will assist the Council in reaching Carbon Neutral by 2030 and improve the local environment through reducing carbon emissions."

Through this Carbon Reduction Delivery Strategy and commitment, the Council is dedicated to playing its part to encourage actions to reduce its contribution to the environment.

This will remove or offset 7,276 tonnes of CO2 by 2030 from the council's own operations meaning they will be clean and efficient, and this action will play a positive role in enabling the wider borough to achieve net-zero emissions.
