Writing before the Christmas break, Mayor Dave Hodgson has wished a very Merry Christmas to all:

"I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I particularly want to thank all those members of the health services and emergency services and indeed all those who are working over the holiday period in order that a safe and peaceful time can be enjoyed across the Borough.

I also know that a great many local residents give time, energy and more at this time of year to helping more vulnerable members of our society, as thoughts in particular turn to those less fortunate.

Whatever you are up to over the Christmas Period, I want to wish you and your family a peaceful and happy time.
