Messing about on the river

Today I joined a trip down the river with some other councillors. The Council are thinking hard about how best use can be made of this great and currently underused asset that Borough has.

In the town centre all sorts of boats operate on the river and the lake: rowing boats of course, canoes and paddle boats on the lake! However, we're not making the most of the river and embankment. At St. Mary's gardens the wall is in need of repair but it will cost a lot of money. The idea of a marina has been discussed many times over the years and is one of the ideas for making more of the river in the town centre.
