More Good News for Church Lane Development as New Medical Centre Opens its Doors
Church Lane Medical Centre is now open, following a formal opening event last week attended by Mayor Dave Hodgson. The surgery is the latest element of a redevelopment scheme which has transformed a shopping parade once notorious for anti-social behaviour into a popular and attractive shopping destination. The centre has seen a substantial upturn in visitors since the opening of a new Aldi food store, new car parking and other works earlier in the project. The opening of the new medical centre provides a tremendous boost for the surrounding community, from where residents have to date had to travel further afield to see a GP.
You can see an album of photos from the opening event on Mayor Dave's Facebook page.
Commenting after the event, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "The opening of the medical centre is fantastic news for local residents. It brings a GP's Surgery right into the heart of the community, and will be warmly welcomed by all those who currently have to travel to other surgeries further away. The facilities we have been shown this morning are excellent. The new medical centre is another huge boost for the successful regeneration scheme which has completely transformed this shopping parade into a popular, multi-purpose development."
