National Compost Week 2021 - support our environment while creating fertile garden soil
This week (March 15th- 21st) is National Compost Week in the UK, with the spotlight turned onto this great way to recycle garden and food waste while creating fertile soil for a healthy garden.
By recycling various organic materials that would ordinarily be regarded as waste products, composting is an eco-friendly way to make good use of food and garden waste while helping to create fertile garden soil. It also helps to reduce landfil waste and protect our wider environment.
Bedford Borough Council offers home compost bins at subsidised prices for householders in Bedford Borough.
The Council also has water butts, wormeries and a range of composters and composting accessories available for purchase. You can find out more on the Council website here: https://www.bedford.gov.uk/rubbish-recycling-and-waste/household-bins-and-recycling/reduce-reuse-and-recycle/
