Northamptonshire given permission to increase Council tax by an additional 2%

Conservative-run Northamptonshire County Council has been given special permission to increase their Council Tax by an additional 2% more than any other Council after their near financial ruin.

In the final local government finance settlement, the Conservative Minister James Brokenshire said the troubled county would be given the extra council tax flexibility to help improve its governance and services.
