From 14th October 2022, over 50s will be invited to book in their autumn booster vaccine thanks to the huge uptake of Autumn boosters.

The move which will see those eligible able to book appointments from 14th October, comes after the successful launch of autumn boosters in care homes, over 65s and others who were eligible from the start of the programme. Across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes over 100,000 residents have already taken up the offer.

Cllr Louise Jackson, Portfolio Holder for Public Health said, "Vaccines save lives and thanks to the phenomenal efforts of NHS staff and the volunteers who have supported us over the past two years, the vast majority of residents across the Borough have been protected against Covid-19.

"It's fantastic to see that people are once again eager to get their jab, and the autumn booster is a better match for the Omicron variants. It's important that anybody eligible books in without delay when they are invited by the NHS either by booking through the NHS website or calling 119."

"We are continuing to ask those who are immunosuppressed to come forward to receive their booster along with frontline health and care staff."
