Plans for the Bank Holiday? Stay Safe, Stay Outside!
Residents are being asked to take care and continue to follow Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air advice this bank holiday weekend, following a rise in cases of Coronavirus in Bedford Borough.
Following the lifting of some restrictions on the 12 April we are all able to meet up with more of the people that are important to us, but we need to continue to take action to reduce the spread of the virus in order to see more restrictions lifted.
Vicky Head, Director of Public Health at Bedford Borough Council said: "Across Bedford Borough and the wider country, people have made incredible efforts to slow the spread of the virus and keep our communities safe, from the lockdown earlier this year, to the slow relaxation of restrictions which has brought us to this point. This bank holiday weekend we're able to meet with another household or in a group of up to six people. We've seen an increase in cases over recent days so we are asking everyone to continue following hands, face, space and fresh air advice. If you're meeting up with friends and family stay safe, wrap up warm and stay outside to stop the virus spreading."
