Play Your Part- Stay At Home

Ahead of the first weekend of the new national restrictions, Bedford Borough Council is reminding people to play their part and stay at home as much as possible.

With COVID-19 cases rising rapidly across the country, the Government is calling on people to stay at home to protect the NHS, and save lives.

The best way to slow the spread of infection is to reduce our day-to-day contact with others.

That is why everyone is being asked to stay at home as much as possible, and avoid meeting people that they do not live with, except for specific purposes such as work where this cannot be done from home.

By slowing the spread of the virus, we can all protect the NHS to ensure that our healthcare system can continue to treat those who need it, and save lives.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said "We have to look towards Wednesday 2 December- when hopefully this 4 week lockdown period will end- and we want Bedford Borough to be in a good place, with our pubs, restaurants and shops able to reopen and look forward to a productive and busy Christmas period.

"To make that happen we need everyone to play their part and protect Bedford Borough. Remember, please stay at home as much as possible and if you do need to go out- Hands, Face, Space."
