Redwood Grove explosion

Sadly, it has now been confirmed at least one person has died in the Redwood Grove explosion earlier today and a number of others have been taken to hospital.
Mayor Dave Hodgson said "My heart goes out to the family and friends of all those involved. I would like to thank Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Bedfordshire Police, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and everyone who has been helping residents."
Bedford Borough Council has set up an Emergency Assistance Centre has been set up at The John Bunyan Centre, for people who have been evacuated and need support and Housing Officers are available at the Emergency Assistance Centre to give advice and we can arrange accommodation.
