R101

Next week, we mark the 91st anniversary of the last flight of the airship R101, which was based out of the Cardington Sheds.

R101 crashed in France on 5th October 1930 killing 48 of the 54 people on board. The Funeral procession from Bedford St Johns to Cardington was reportedly watched by 75,000 lining the route.

Thanks to volunteers there will be live reporting on twitter and facebook of the events as they would have happened at https://www.facebook.com/HMAR101/ and https://twitter.com/Cardingtonsheds.
