Take care on borough’s roads
Bedford Borough Council is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and allow extra time where they have to make journeys during the current snow and cold weather.
Over the weekend Bedford Borough Council gritters have been undertaking frequent full runs across all of the borough's priority routes to tackle snow and icy conditions.
Council gritters were out again today from 9am for a full gritting run on priority routes across Bedford Borough before the snow started to fall. Further gritting runs across the network will be taking place to tackle conditions on the road.
Councillor Charles Royden, Environment and Transport Portfolio Holder said "Ahead of the current snow fall gritters have been out on priority roads across Bedford Borough to tackle the snow and icy conditions. Everyone should continue to follow Coronavirus regulations and stay home wherever possible but if you do have to head out please do take care, wrap up warmly and drive safely allowing extra time for your journeys."
