20 Jun 2017

Mayor Dave Hodgson has thanked Cllr Mohammad Yasin MP for his work as Cabinet Member for Adult Services, after he stood down from the role following his election as MP for Bedford and Kempston in the recent General Election.

Commenting, Mayor Dave said: "I want to thank Cllr Yasin for all of his hard work as Portfolio Holder for Adult Services. I have congratulated him on his election success, and look forward to continuing to work with him, in his capacity as the MP for Bedford and Kempston.'

Cllr Yasin said:"I was honoured to be asked to join the Executive and learned a great deal, I'd like to thank Dave Hodgson for the opportunity. I saw first-hand just how hard our officers work and how Government funding cuts have put enormous pressure on Adult Social Care Services. I am sure the Mayor and I can continue our excellent working relationship in future for the good of everyone in Bedford & Kempston."

Mayor Dave has taken on the Portfolio responsibilities for Adult Services on a temporary basis, and expects to make an announcement on Cllr Yasin's replacement in the coming weeks.
