The Higgins Bedford is once again the primary venue for The Bedford Film Festival

The second Bedford Film Festival is taking place this weekend, with a range of exciting and varied workshops and film screenings today, tomorrow and Saturday. The main venue is once again The Higgins Bedford, and festival-goers will benefit from enhanced facilities which have been installed in advance of the festival.

A new projector platform and window have been installed, in consultation with the Film Festival team, after they approached Mayor Dave Hodgson and made the case for the benefits it will bring not only to the film festival but also for all future film screening opportunities. Mayor Dave will be speaking prior to the festival's closing screening on Sunday night, which is the Bedford premier of 20,000 Days on Earth. More information about all of the remaining events is available on the festival's website at www.bedfordfilmfestival.org

Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "The Film Festival team have once again arranged for an exciting weekend full of workshops and screenings for local film-lovers to enjoy. There are events and screenings for all ages, with a wide variety of tastes catered for. It's great to see this cultural highlight back in Bedford after its successful first year, and with improved projection facilities for this year at The Higgins Bedford to boot."
