This free weekend of fun and games is on from 10am - 4pm on both Saturday, 30 August and Sunday, 31 August.

As well as a continuous children's tea party, entertainment will include children's rides, a magician / children's entertainer and games and activities along with face painting, balloon modelling, a treasure hunt searching for 19 cats and even a caterpillar who recites poetry!

There will also be craft stalls, tours of the Mill and the Red Cuthbert Morris Dancers will be performing (Sunday only). A fancy dress competition, one for adults and one for children, will be judged each day at 3pm.

This is the first major event since the Mill and Café were reopened in April by the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson.

The Mayor said: "Since reopening this year following the refurbishment work, Bromham Mill has become an even more attractive location for everyone to enjoy. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party will include a range of attractions and will provide great family entertainment on what is the last weekend of the summer holidays."

And there is sure to be another juicy event on Sunday, 19 October when the popular annual Apple Day (11am - 4.30pm) is expected to attract a few thousand visitors to celebrate all things apple related.

Bromham Mill is open weekends, as well as Bank Holiday Mondays, from 10am - 4pm during April to October, and is available for private functions, weddings, birthday parties and exhibitions or workshops. The café sells fresh coffee, afternoon tea and homemade cakes during normal opening hours. For more information, please contact the Mill on (01234) 718044 or email events@bedford.gov.uk
