Tribute to Cllr Carole Ellis

Mayor Dave Hodgson has paid tribute to Cllr Carole Ellis, who has passed away following a long illness. Cllr Ellis, who represented Great Barford Ward, was a long standing member of Bedford Borough Council, and was Conservative group leader from 2009 to 2012.
Cllr Ellis was Civic Mayor in 1999 - 2000, and led the team that welcomed Nelson Mandela when he visited Bedford.
Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "My deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of Cllr Carole Ellis. Carole was an extremely hard-working Councillor, who served the community tirelessly. She treated political friend and foe alike with unfailing respect and good humour, and will be sorely missed by all."
