Labour has proposed yet another bail-out whilst delaying a vital budget

Alistair Darling has admitted that a further economic recovery package could be needed in the future as rumours have come to light that an all important budget could be delayed.

The Liberal Democrats have offered a consistent, fully costed road to recovery, proposed by Nick Clegg and Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor.

Meanwhile, there are rumours circulating that the budget could now be delayed.

Henry Vann, Bedford and Kempston parliamentary campaigner for the Liberal Democrats, said:

"It is clear that the Labour government is rapidly realising that its original expectations were, as Vince Cable says, hopelessly optimistic, and it is retreating as far as it can.

"A delayed budget, and a delayed announcement of government programmes within the budget can only mean that the government is putting off the inevitable.

"Labour must come clean on its economic record and report to the people the full economic assessment.

"The Liberal Democrats are the only party to have fully-costed plans for the green road to economic recovery, including significant costed public investment and fair taxation.
