Mayor Dave Hodgson has recorded a new video about Coronavirus vaccinations in Bedford Borough.
You can watch the video here. In the video Mayor Dave Hodgson says:
There is a some good COVID-19 news at last!
There are approved vaccines and vaccinations started in Bedford Borough earlier this month. There are currently two sites in the Borough - Kings House on Ampthill Road and the Gurdwara in Queens Park.
The Hospital is also vaccinating and a start has been made on care homes. I have been told that all care home residents and staff will be vaccinated by the end of January.
I'd like to say a big 'THANK YOU' to all staff and the volunteers who are making this happen.
You will have seen on the TV news that progress is patchy across the country and in Bedford and the East of England we're behind on delivery.
I wrote to the Prime Minister again earlier this month laying out my concerns, a little less over-promising would be helpful in managing expectations!
Supply of the vaccines has been stop-start, so some appointments have been reorganised and many over-80s have received letters offering appointments in Stevenage. You don't need to accept these appointments - if you wait your GP will contact you for a local appointment.
Once you've had the first dose it's important to KEEP ON TAKING CARE to keep other safe:
HANDS - FACE - SPACE
Thank you!
