Also on Facebook here, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Jas Parmar said: "I know many young people (and their parents!) will be marking #worldbookday today. These days I read mostly modern history when I get time. But growing up I loved reading the Alistair Maclean fiction novels. My favourite was Guns of Navarone.

What's your favourite book?"

Meanwhile, fittingly, Mayor Dave Hodgson has spoken today about the launch of Bedford Borough Council's consultation on extending the popular LibraryPlus system to Putnoe and Kempston Libraries. You can read more on Mayor Dave's website here.
