Less than a year after it opened on Greyfriars in Bedford Town Centre, Bedford Borough Council's pioneering Jobs Hub has received national recognition for the results it has achieved in supporting residents into work, training and business. The Jobs Hub won the 'Delivering Better Outcomes' category at the Municipal Journal Awards 2013, after a remarkable first eleven months of supporting the employment prospects of local residents.
Works to significantly improve Allen Park in Bedford have been completed and officially unveiled in the last week.

These plans will presented to the Council's Executive on 8th December, with the details to be confirmed nearer the time. These are very exciting developments, however, which could prove to be a fantastic result of genuine, open-minded partnership working between Portfolio Holder for Children's Services Cllr David Sawyer, Council officers and the parents of children who use the respite services offered at Foxgloves.
At the September Executive of Bedford Borough Council it was revealed that the Council saved £273,000 as a result of not having to support the leisure facilities managed by Fusion for the last six months of 2020/2021.
