It is with profound sadness that we learnt yesterday, 23 February, that Councillor Patrick Solomon died at his home in Kingsbrook, the ward he represented. Patrick's death comes just one week after the death of his beloved wife Joan, following Joan's long illness.
Recently announced Liberal Democrat candidate for Great Denham, Joanna Szaub-Newton said that estate management charges are "completely unfair for local residents" and called on the Conservative government to "hurry up and take action" to end them. Bedford Borough Council has been praised for having awarded 100% of the available COVID Business Support funds. According to a report in the Telegraph many other local authorities have only paid out a tiny fraction of the allocated funds, with the worst offending councils distributing just 1% of the funding.
