This weekend Bedford will host a special Christmas Town Market in collaboration with Bedford Bid and Made in Bedford. As well as local bands and choirs providing entertainment, there will be local artists and makers with gifts and decorations.We will again see free family amusements rides for children throughout the town centre.

The Executive Committee of Bedford Borough Council has decided unanimously that schools across the Borough will now move to a two-tier system. The decision follows extensive work alongside schools and a public consultation which revealed strong support for the change. Bedford's Christmas Lights Switch-On event is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday 26th November, with a spectacular firework display set to mark the start of the Christmas period in Bedford in dramatic fashion. The free family event kicks off at 7pm, along The Embankment, with people of all ages invited to attend to enjoy the entertainment including music, lights and fireworks.
