Bedford Borough Council is warning people not to fly-tip or dump waste this Christmas holiday.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has outlined the Council's ambitions for economic development in Bedford Borough in the new Economic Prosperity Plan. The plan will focus on three key areas: supporting sustainable business growth, promoting the vitality of our town centres and encouraging education and skills development for all ages.
Mayor Dave Hodgson today took part in an Armistice Day ceremony at the Bedford War Memorial on the Embankment, at 11am. As with Sunday's Remembrance Service, it was a reduced service in line with current regulations and to ensure the safety of all involved. Photographs will be available on Mayor Dave's Facebook page in due course.
Mayor Dave's latest montly column for the Bedford Times and Citizen newspaper has a festive theme, including the events taking place around the Borough in the run-up to Christmas, Dave's visit to thank the postal workers for their efforts at this time of year and a few words on support for good causes at a time at which we think of those in need. Today is the Srebrenica Memorial Day when we remember the genocide committed against over 8,000 Muslim men and boys in the space of just a few days in Srebrenica 26 years ago in July 1995.
Every day, millions of people across the UK are making a difference by volunteering.
