This week (March 15th- 21st) is National Compost Week in the UK, with the spotlight turned onto this great way to recycle garden and food waste while creating fertile soil for a healthy garden.
Local Community Forest charity the Forest of Marston Vale has entered into a 5 year partnership with award-winning company Midas Pattern Company Ltd, planting 500 trees per year near Bedford and selling verified carbon units to cut the manufacturing company's carbon footprint to absolute zero.
I have been contacted by the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to inform me that they are suspending bookings for the first dose of vaccinations from 29th March until the end of April. This follows the Government's Task Force on vaccinations announcement that there will be a significant reduction in supply available from manufacturers.
Throughout March, Bedford Borough Council and partners are reminding families in Bedford Borough of the signs and symptoms of measles and for adults and children who have not been fully vaccinated, to take up the offer of the MMR vaccination.
The Safer Streets project in the Midland Road area has seen a major upgrade to the CCTV system, home safety equipment and advice offered to residents, and home visits carried out by Bedford Borough Council, Bedfordshire Police, Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue and other local organisations, as part of this Home Office funded project.
