Mayor Dave Hodgson took part in an Armistice Day ceremony at the Bedford War Memorial on the Embankment yesterday, at 11am. As with Sunday's Remembrance Service, it was a reduced service in line with current regulations and to ensure the safety of all involved. Bedford Borough Council is investing £650,000 to carry out improvements and prolong the life of Kings Bridge, which provides a vital link across the river for pedestrians and cyclists. The works focus on repainting, steelwork refurbishment and decking replacement. The refurbishment is part of the Council's investment in walking and cycling infrastructure across Bedford Borough.
