Open Government Set Back by Decades

At last night's first cabinet meeting the Mayor made his mark by slashing the involvement of the public and their representatives. The long standing "questions from the public" was removed and the Mayor made it clear that he would not accept questions or comments during the main body of the meeting.

The final result of the first Bedford Mayoral Election saw Frank Branston elected for the Better Bedford Party. Lib Dem Christine McHugh came second with 36% of the total vote after the 2nd preferences were counted.

Still In the Hunt! Bedford Mayor Election: First Round Result

The Bedford Mayoral Election count for the first directly elected Mayor of Bedford has been suspended with the second round to be counted on Friday Morning. At the end of a long nights count, Christine McHugh and Frank Branston topped the poll and proceeded to the second round.
