Bedford Borough Council warns against using rogue waste carriers

Bedford Borough Council often sees an increase in fly-tipping during spring. Much of this is from rogue waste carriers illegally dumping waste they've collected. These people avoid paying disposal fees so they can maximise their profits and unfairly undercut local legitimate businesses.

Bedford Borough Council fines owner who abandoned vehicle

The latest success in the Council's campaign against environmental crime involved a man who abandoned his van in De Parys Avenue, Bedford, in February. A yellow Vauxhall van was reported to the Council as being abandoned, untaxed and with an MOT that had expired.

Mayor thanks dedicated volunteers

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson has paid tribute to volunteers who have been working with the council to improve footpaths and the rights of way network across Bedford Borough. The works have seen improved bridges, stiles, steps, handrails, and byways. Over the past several months, the Council has been working tirelessly to refurbish and replace 20 of the most important bridges, install new gates to replace old stiles, and clear the byways of any debris or obstructions.
