Councillors were left astonished by the cost of the Conservatives planned £53 million of borrowing at a meeting. The Finance Portfolio Holder indicated that it would cost the Council around £5 million every year to pay for interest payments.
Councillor Michael Headley said “It is very disappointing the Conservative administration is not on top of this issue. During the cost of living crisis these grants have given important help for many local residents."
