The Great Big Green Week is the UK's biggest call for action on climate change, and will take place this year between 10 and 18 June 2023. Bedford Borough Council is proud to announce its participation and is planning a wide range of events.

Climate change, rural areas, and housing on the list for deprioritisation by new Mayor as Lib Dems call for committees to be protected

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats have called on the Conservative Mayor to keep the Climate Change, Housing and Rural Affairs Committees of the Executive introduced by former Mayor Dave Hodgson. The committees ensure that these important issues are kept at the forefront of public discussion. However, the future of these committees is now under threat, following the announcement that the Mayor is reviewing whether to continue with them or not.

New outdoor gym opens on the Embankment

Outdoor gym equipment has now been installed as part of the Riverside for All project that was overseen by Councillor Henry Vann as the former Portfolio Holder for Town Centres and Planning. The project is also seeing new paths installed in St Mary's gardens, the resurfacing of the Embankment and new signage along the riverside.
