75th anniversary of the VE Day
On the 75th anniversary of the VE Day we are flying the Union Flag at both the old Town Hall and Borough Hall (although there is a lack of wind this morning).

Re-opening Barkers Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre, new facility at Oasis and reinstating Bulky Waste Collection
Bedford Borough Council will be re-opening the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) on Barkers Lane on Monday 11 May. Bookings must be made in advance and some restrictions apply.

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats Backing Deaf Awareness Week Locally
This week is Deaf Awareness Week, and Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats are backing its important message locally. Liberal Democrat Councillor Tim Hill, who is hearing impaired, has stressed the importance of the campaign's work to raise awareness of the needs of those who are deaf or have hearing loss, and highlighted the benefits this can bring locally.
