Pints in the Parishes in Riseley tonight!

The second 'Pints in the Parishes' event is taking place tonight, at the Fox and Hounds in Riseley. These sessions are intended to provide an opportunity for me to hear directly from anyone who wants to discuss the issues important to them in an informal, local environment. They are also a chance for for me to show my support for local, community pubs. I will be at the Fox and Hounds from around 7.30pm.

A fly-tipper has been fined for illegally dumping bags of rubbish and a rolled-up cushion from their car in Ampthill Road, Bedford in December.

Meetings for Parents and Carers on HEART's Alarming Plans for Cauldwell, Shackleton and Shortstown Primaries

Mayor Dave Hodgson has been informed that the HEART Academies Trust is holding meetings tonight (16th) and tomorrow (17th) for parents and carers of children at Shortstown, Shackleton or Cauldwell Primary Schools about their deeply unpopular plans to remove the Head Teacher posts and local governing bodies from those schools. Both meetings are taking place at Bedford Academy on Mile Road, at 6:30pm.

Consultation on Bedford Borough Council's draft 'Local Plan 2030' closes in a matter of days, on Tuesday 30th October at 5pm. In his October column for the Bedford Borough Bulletin Mayor Dave Hodgson cut through the 'politically motivated spin' about the plan coming from some quarters and set out the facts on a plan which is designed to focus the housing development required for the Borough on brownfield sites and protects existing communities from unsuitable or sprawling development.
