This loss of essential primary care comes as the number of registered patients in the area rises by 11% to well over 1 million - the 7th largest increase in the country. It is with profound sadness that we learnt yesterday, 23 February, that Councillor Patrick Solomon died at his home in Kingsbrook, the ward he represented. Patrick's death comes just one week after the death of his beloved wife Joan, following Joan's long illness.

Bedford Borough Council has been praised for having awarded 100% of the available COVID Business Support funds. According to a report in the Telegraph many other local authorities have only paid out a tiny fraction of the allocated funds, with the worst offending councils distributing just 1% of the funding.
