Bus services increased for Shortstown and Stewartby
Funding from S106 pots has been made available to increase the frequency of bus routes for Shortstown and Stewartby. The 68 service will be increasing its frequency during peak hours. The 9 service will be increasing its frequency and extending its service. These enhancements are planned to start from mid-April this year.

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund to benefit Bedford Borough Residents
Councillor Charles Royden, Portfolio Holder for Environment, joined representatives from Places for People, Bedford Borough Council and other partners for a site visit of Adamson Court, Kempston in February It was an opportunity to learn how funding from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund will be used to benefit residents.

Mayor Dave unveils ambitious town centre restoration plans
The former Goldings building on Bedford High Street has been restored to its former glory as part of the High Street Heritage Action Zone restoration programme. The scaffolding has come down to reveal brilliant gold lettering and the iconic Goldings logo painted on the building.

New sports courses for adults over 35 years old in Bedford Borough
Bedford Borough Council's Sports Development Unit is launching new eight-week sports courses for adults over 35 years old. Courses can be booked from 30 March and will begin from the week of 15 May 2023, bookings are on a first come first served basis.

Almost 50 pubs in Bedford Borough at risk of closing as Chancellor slashes business support
New analysis by the Liberal Democrats reveals that nearly 50 pubs, restaurants and cafes are at risk in Bedford Borough following the Chancellor's Budget. The analysis also predicts that 1,786 businesses are expected to close across the East of England.
