Council Tax for the Borough Council has increased by three times the rate of inflation since Mayor Branston took office in 2002. Borough Council Tax over the 5 budgets overseen by Mayor Branston is up by 31%, whilst inflation for that time is just 10% .
Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats have reacted with grave concern to the news that air quality hotspots are spreading beyond those previously identified. Nitrogen Dioxide levels on an increasing number of roads in the town centre are exceeding government targets for air quality.
