The death is regretfully announced of Sigrid (Sigi) Marsh, who was an active Borough Councillor for Goldington Ward, Bedford between 1977 and 1990. Sigi leaves her husband John (who is also a former Borough Councillor), her daughter Bridget and grandson Max.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has launched a new Skills Led Recovery Plan to ensure that residents have the skills and opportunities needed for Bedford Borough to build back better following the COVID pandemic. The plan will enable Bedford's future economy to be resilient and people-focussed. It will be ready to face economic shocks and will respond to changes in economic needs, ensuring success for residents and local businesses. The plan will be underpinned by Bedford Core Delivery Partnership which will coordinate skills and employment activity, and identify new trends so that training is relevant to local need.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has put forward a new Adult Social Care Charging Policy that ensures the most vulnerable on the lowest incomes are treated fairly and supported with the cost of their adult social care. For the first time, residents claiming Universal Credit are recognised within the Council's Adult Social Care Charging Policy.
Science Lab, the popular celebration of British Science Week returns to The Higgins Bedford on Saturday 12 March with free activities for families to enjoy.
