This week, Bedford Borough Council is starting works on the development of a new fitness area at Mill Meadows, as part of the £1.5m Riverside for All project.
New figures estimate that the 30,000+ trees planted in Bedford Borough in this planting season alone could absorb around 300 tonnes of carbon each year. As well as absorbing hundreds of tonnes of carbon, the trees will enrich the local environment and have many health benefits.
Many people have told Liberal Democrat campaigns that they have already voted by post and we would like to thank those that have already had their say in these crucial elections.
A UK wide test of the government's new public Emergency Alerts system will take place at 3pm on Sunday 23 April.
