Mayor's Exam Congratulations for Students
Mayor Dave Hodgson has congratulated students across Bedford Borough on exam successes after yesterday's GCSE results day, following on from A-Level results day last week.

Exam success - GCSE results
Provisional GCSE results for the 2017/18 academic year have been released today showing that 63.7% of Bedford Borough students reached the required standard in English and Mathematics at Grade 4 and above (standard pass) and 41.1% of Bedford Borough students reached the required standard in English and Mathematics at Grade 5 and above (strong pass), an increase of around 3% on last year.

Tory Torbay facing cash crisis
Tory-run Torbay Council has been forced to announce an 'immediate moratorium' on all non-urgent expenditure. The council's first quarter budget monitoring report has forecast an in-year overspend of more than £2.8million.
