Between 4-10 September, NHS Blood and Transplant, hospitals, charities and supporters of organ donation is encouraging people across the UK to talk about organ donation with their families.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has described Bedfordshire as 'a great place to live,' and said he is proud that Bedford is the county town. He has also said that the county deserves a wider profile, and hailed its 'stunning countryside and vibrant towns, with landscapes and buildings alike bursting with heritage and character.'

Responding to news that the Football Association has backed safe standing at football grounds in England if there is "clear evidence that satisfies authorities", Liberal Democrat MP Tim Farron said "I am glad the FA have joined the EFL and recognised the pleas of fans for a better atmosphere and cheaper tickets. Let's hope that their support proves to be a game-changer. For the Conservative Government, the tempo has changed and it is now a high pressure game. They must get the ball rolling and make safe standing happen."
