Bedford's Traditional Christmas Fair is Underway!
Bedford Town Centre's big Christmas Fair is underway, and continues through the weekend until Sunday 14th December. The fair offers visitors the chance to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional Christmas with stalls throughout the heart of the Town Centre selling an array of seasonal gifts, foods and treats. Throughout the fair's three days there will also be an array of madcap seasonal street entertainment, music and shows that are filled with fun characters.

Bedford's Forgotten Polar Connection: Unveiling of Bedford's Latest Blue Hertitage Plaque
A Blue Heritage Plaque was unveiled last week at the former Bedford home of the Polar Explorer Aeneas Mackintosh. Mayor Dave Hodgson was in attendance at the formal unveiling at 43 Beverley Crescent, which Mackintosh rented in 1914 in order that his wife could be close to her relatives while he was away leading the Ross Sea Advance Party of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Trans Antarctic Expedition.


More Action on Speeding With New Community Speedwatch Van
The range of measures introduced by Mayor Dave Hodgson to make Bedford Borough's local roads safer has been expanded further with the Council's new Community Speedwatch Vehicle now out and about on the Borough's streets.

Mayor Dave Hodgson visited the Charter Market on St Paul's Square earlier on, where he chatted to market traders an checked on progress of the wide range of upgrade and improvement works taking place on the square.
